Situated inside the historic Imperial Bank of Canada building on the corner of Stephen Avenue and Centre Street SE, right at the heart of Downtown Calgary, Catch & the Oyster Bar offers fresh and sustainable seafood.

Even though Calgary is about more than 1,000km away from the closet coastline, Catch and the Oyster Bar has made it happened! It just reminds me of my childhood which involved fresh seafood directly from the ocean every meal.

Catch upstairs is a formal modern elegant seafood restaurant with the polish of luxurious details while Oyster Bar at the main floor is a casual west coast-style eatery with a playful menu which features their famous Seafood Platter!

Experience the Seafood Platter

I’d like to introduce you to the main level restaurant, the Oyster Bar.  Headed up by Chef de Cuisine Jordan Walsh and General Manager Thomas Hill, the menu boasts simple, honest, seasonal, ingredient-focused food consisting of an array of fresh dishes created from sustainable produce.

If you enjoy slurping expertly shucked oysters and tucking into fresh crab bites, I’d certainly recommend the delicious & some-what infamous “seafood tower” (states as seafood platter on the menu). This amazing seafood blast includes lobster, crab clusters, oysters, clams, mussels, and peel-and-eat shrimp. Doesn’t this have your mouth-watering already?  The smaller tower came with two layers of fresh ocean goodies spectacularly-displayed by chefs. This entertaining chilled platter comes in small and large.

Both menus from Catch Dining Room and the Oyster Bar are transformed seasonally, based on the availability of local or needed ingredients.

If you love scallops, please try the Panseared Hokkaido Scallops on the current dinner menu of Oyster Bar. This appetizer was delectable. It absolutely reminded me of the fresh scallops I had at the shore in Parksville on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Furthermore, the Oyster Bar offers a Buycatch program to make fresh, sustainable Ocean Wise seafood available to home chefs. #buycatch

Catch & the Oyster Bar has worked closely with the Vancouver Aquarium Ocean Wise program since 2008 to source sustainable seafood and to ensure they make responsible decisions when purchasing seafood products. Since 2010, the award-winning restaurant has offered 100 per cent Ocean Wise menus ensuring guests that all seafood items on the menu have been carefully sourced and are ocean-friendly, sustainable dining options. By dining at either restaurant guests can ensure they are doing their part to protect our oceans!
