Prince’s Island Park

Have you ever been to one of the nicest parks in Downtown Calgary?

Prince’s Island Park is located on an island by the Bow river, just north of Downtown. It features picnic areas, walk and bike paths, gardens, water fountains and canoe access to the river. The park also serves as a venue for various festivals and events.

At the center of Prince’s Island an amazing restaurant called River Café. Dining would definitely be memorable due to the extraordinary setting, wonderful view and delectable dishes served.

The park also showcases access to the famous Peace Bridge, which opened for use last March, 2012. Its artistic architectural design is remarkable and is the reason why many tourists admire this wonderful work of art. The Peace Bridge accommodates both pedestrians and cyclists crossing the Bow river.

Prince’s Island Park is home to big festivals and events throughout the year, such as Canada Day and Heritage Day. People gather around the park to watch concerts, line up for food trucks and enjoy the fireworks as they celebrate the special day.

Since the park is located by the river, it is also an access for canoes, kayaks and rafts. There are a few more weeks before summer ends, so take advantage of the warm weather and calm river! You may bring your own ride or rent at Lazy Day Raft Rental a few blocks northwest of the river. It would definitely be a fun-filled experience for everyone.

So whether you’re walking, jogging, biking or just strolling around downtown, don’t miss a visit to Prince’s Island Park. It is definitely a MUST DO on your list. Visit the Concierge desk for more information.
