Not familiar with Calgary? Not a problem! The smells from Boxwood Café’s rotisserie will lead you right to this hidden gem. With both an amazing patio and beautiful ambiance in Central Memorial Park, it is certainly one of the best places to visit with a pair of sunglasses in summer.

Their simple but vibrant menu items are prepared using local and sustainable ingredients from carefully-chosen suppliers and their urban edible garden right outside Boxwood Café’s doors.
If you are thinking of some hearty comfort food, don’t miss out on their Spinach and Peas Mac ‘n Cheese with Sylvan Star gouda gratinée! It was such a pleasant experience to have a hand-crafted cocktail under the sun with great food.
If you’re into simply sweetened artisan spirits, you have to try the Prince’s Island Iced Tea! Prefer draught beer? Try Wild Rose Velvet Fog Wheat Ale! I enjoyed it so much that I almost drank it all – even though I’m not into beer.
Please, please, please remember to leave some space for their tempting desserts. Try their Oatmeal, Cranberry, Chocolate Chip Cookie with organic fair trade chocolate – it will not disappoint. Enjoy their freshly baked cookies in house or to go, as you wish.
Boxwood Café is well worth visiting for their locally-sources, sustainable, and simply-made food that is absolutely delicious. Prepare for a relaxing and laid back experience with a twist of originality.
