FAB Things to Do: 1940’s Motionball Gala

I always love a good excuse to dress up for a themed event, and the annual Motionball Gala provided the perfect opportunity! I took a little trip back in time to 1940 where fedoras, canes and pearls where the accessories of choice. More specifically Hollywood Glam was the inspiration of the evening and let me just say – Calgary, you looked FAB!

Motionball is a not-for-profit organization that builds awareness and raises funds for the Special Olympics Canada Foundation. The young business community is just the beginning of what our new generation exemplifies in support of this amazing organization.

I had an overwhelming sense of joy as the headlining performer Jully Black invited all the athletes on stage to dance during one of her songs. It’s moments like this that make you appreciate life. The support shown throughout the evening was nothing less than FAB. They had CFL and NHL players, the host from ET Canada and many local celebrities in attendance.

The glitz and glam setting was lovely in the historically gorgeous Flames Central. One of my favourite portions of the evening was the Under Armour, underwear fashion show! These little ensembles look good and seem quite comfortable/practical.

If you a chance to attend the event next year do it! You won’t be disappointed and the bonus is that this amazing night supports a truly wonderful cause.
